UK Equities

In UK equities, a flexible/rotational approach allows us to maximise the opportunities to make money for our clients. Unearthing such opportunities takes patience and imagination that we liken to piecing together a mosaic: each pattern is different, but similar themes often emerge. Rare in a boutique, smaller company expertise is embedded in our products.

Global Equities

In Global equities, the team’s investment approach is, again, firmly anchored in common sense: we are looking to buy ‘good’ companies at ‘cheap’ prices. Put simply, we invest in businesses that can increase their intrinsic value by at least 10% a year – and we buy when their shares trade at least 20% below our estimate of intrinsic value.

Absolute Return

Majedie’s approach to Absolute Return investing is deliberately old fashioned: we aim to make a positive absolute return every year – but crucially whilst maintaining an acceptable risk profile, in terms of liquidity, leverage and position sizing. We are driven by the power of compounding: avoiding losses is the secret to solid long term investment returns.
